"To All VOLUNTARY SECTOR partners in Greater Gorbals,
We are pleased to invite you to the next meeting of this newly formed group
- on 16th May 2-4pm in the Barn.
Since the last one:
- some people have said they don't know what it's all about and don't understand all the abbreviations so we will spend some time making sure everyone gets a clear picture of how Thriving Places and this group came about and how they fit into a bigger picture.
- some people have asked to explore more widely what works in developing communities so we are getting a speaker in from Inspiring Scotland.
- some people have said they want to ensure the partnership with New Gorbals Housing as the lead agency moves forward positively and effectively so we will find a way to achieve that.
- some people have said they would like Gorbals groups to use each other's resources more so we invest in this community so we will talk about that
We see Thriving Places as a real opportunity to create and develop partnerships across voluntary, statutory and business sectors in Greater Gorbals and to spend the next 10 years (and beyond) working together to improve the quality of life for its residents in ways the physical regeneration has not been able to do on its own.
We need everyone on board to make this effective and we want to make sure that when representatives of this group take the agenda forward they really represent your views, so please come and please bring your ideas, your concerns and your expertise.
