Does anyone remember me or my family the Doyles brought up in Florence street, or my grandmother Mary Mcormack? We stayed in 118 Florence street and my gran stayed in 158 (front door house) posh in those days. I went to St Lukes left in 1963 and then went to Holyrood. Have seen postings of Magwa and Eva McGuire (both sadly passed on) but remember them with fondest memories.

I am trying to find information on Annabella Campbell, born about 1795 in Glasgow. She married Hugh Campbell 25 Nov 1816. They had a large family, born in the Gorbals -those known to have survived are Mary (1821), Colin (1832), Catherine (1834), who was my husband's great-grandmother. The family moved to Islay where Hugh was a shopkeeper/provision merchant in Port Askaig. Hugh died in Islay in 1859, but was buried in the Southern Necropolis, Glasgow - this info is from his death certificate. Annabella had predeceased him, but I can find no record of her death or burial. I would love to find her parents, or any other descendants of this family.

My Grandfather, Patrick Horne was born 1910 and lived at 304 South Wellington St, Glasgow. His Father was Edward Horne (Labourer for Clyde Trust)and Mother Mary Jane. I am trying to find anything that could be relevant - My Grandfather was reluctant to discuss his childhood with his children, other than to say that there had been a "disaster?" and he and his Mother returned to Galway, Ireland (there may have been other children??

My grandfather was also a black cab driver in 1970's. Would like to hear from anyone who recognised the name! I think he was known as blue nose vic! or similar. I think the Vennie that Millie Jordan is talking about in Caley Road was run by an English guy called Chris, he had a helper there called Sally who had thick black hair. They were backed by a group called the Simon Community who were trying to help us deprived kids. I remember it well though as I spent nearly every day there. They started running discos on a Friday night. Our guests included, Frankie Murray, Tiddsy Screen, Johnny Boy McClelland and big Mick Tolan. All in all we had a great time even though we did break a few bones on the swings. I loved it and wouldn't mind a second chance at it. Although I am probably less fit than I was then. Still I am sure I would give it a good go anyaway!

Does anybody know if Rosyth Street still exists in Glasgow, possibly in postcode G5. I remember visiting a family from Donegal called Ferry there in early eighties. The names were Hugh and Anne (both deceased now)and they had three of a family, Marion, Sally and Connie. I also remember calling into a local pub which was close to the street and it may have been called "The Wee Mill" and it had some connection to a player called McBride who had played for Celtic. I also visited the Irish Centre and the Kelvin Hall for a social event. Very happy memories of my visit and very well treated by wonderful people.
